Use your existing recorder
Record with Voice Memos or another app that can share an audio file. Send M4A, MP3, WAV or AAC to LocalBrain through the share sheet. Open LocalBrain after sharing and tap Start to create the transcript and summary. Sharing saves the file; it does not start processing in the background.
Get beyond a transcript
After you tap Start, on-device speech recognition produces timestamped text. Local AI then corrects the transcript using context and creates a summary. After you choose to save, it organizes topics and source references; it does not automatically create tasks. You can review the source rather than taking an AI summary on trust.
Compare this meeting with the last one
After reviewing the result, tap Save to knowledge base to connect this recording with earlier memories. If a later conversation changes a proposal, the new evidence is added alongside the earlier discussion. Ask what changed and follow the related memory back to the meetings that explain it.
Keep control when processing pauses
Your source stays saved when transcription or analysis fails. Completed transcript segments are saved as checkpoints. Reopen LocalBrain and retry the interrupted step. Free transcription supports recordings up to 10 minutes; longer recordings require Pro. Supported speech languages may need an initial download.
