Privacy by architecture
Privacy is not a toggle. It is the product architecture.
LocalBrain has no account, no cloud sync, and no cloud AI backend. The knowledge base, full-text search, and AI inference run on-device.
Model and speech-language downloads, links you import, optional web search and App Store purchases need a connection. Once local assets are ready, your saved knowledge, search and local AI questions work offline. Audio and transcripts are not uploaded for AI processing.

Is LocalBrain completely offline?
The core knowledge base, search, and AI Q&A run locally and keep working with the network off. Initial model and speech-language downloads, explicit web actions and App Store purchases require a connection.
Where is my data stored?
Your data stays in the app sandbox on your iPhone. LocalBrain preserves raw sources and readable knowledge-base content; there is no account or cloud sync as the product foundation.
How is this different from ChatGPT or Notion?
Cloud AI tools usually send content to servers for processing. LocalBrain runs inference on-device. LocalBrain connects the material you choose to save, so you can return to the context behind your notes.
When does an audio recording become a memory?
Sharing first saves the file. Tap Start to create a transcript and summary; then review it and choose Save to knowledge base. Free transcription supports recordings up to 10 minutes; longer recordings require Pro. The first Whisper use asks you to confirm a download of about 489 MB before it begins.
Does Pro renew automatically?
No. Pro costs NT$90 for one calendar month or NT$990 for one calendar year. Access expires unless you choose to purchase again; there are no automatic charges. Free includes 10 chat questions and 5 text or voice translations per day, and transcription up to 10 minutes per file. Pro removes those paid limits while active; device and source limits still apply. Existing lifetime and early paid users keep permanent Pro; existing lifetime Family Sharing is preserved. App Store pricing and availability apply.
